"I recruited Gerónimo for a website project in seven languages. His job was to proofread machine translations into Spanish and adapt them into a more “human” style that was better suited to SEO.
Gerónimo threw himself headfirst into the project and was so thorough and quick (always the first to finish out of the seven translators) in completing his share of the translations that I asked him to help me with other tasks, such as quality control of the other six translators’ work or finishing parts of the website that were missing. He worked with the Storyblok CMS, which he mastered very quickly despite never having used it before. Not only did he do what I asked him to, but he proactively suggested improvements that occurred to him along the way. He added alt tags to images, created call-to-actions, etc., not only on the Spanish pages, but also on others in English, German, French, Italian and even Turkish.
After that first project, in which he demonstrated enormous versatility and a great ability to work with pages in languages he doesn’t understand, I asked him to help with another project also using Storyblok, but this one was 100% in German. It involved creating product pages and inserting images and text into different modules. He carried out this work impeccably too, and the fact that he didn’t speak German didn’t affect the project’s progress at all because we held meetings in English, in which he could participate without any problem.
If I had to describe Gerónimo’s strengths, I’d say versatility, the ability to pick up new things quickly, a strong work ethic and a great sense of humour!"
